Africa-Press – Angola. The swimmer from Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda, Rafaela Santos, won, this Sunday, the first edition of the International Meeting of Open Waters, in senior women’s category, held on the beach of Ilha do Cabo.
Rafaela, representing the National Team, needed one hour, 42 minutes and 59 seconds, in a test of five thousand kilometers (km).
In men’s seniors, Ricardo Brás, from the Portuguese team Vikings, won with a time of 1: 42.28. The second position belonged to compatriot Rafael Gil (1:56.6).
The Angolan Alex Fortes, from Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda, came in third (1:51.53).
In the 3,000 km, for women, Neilza dos Santos, from Clube Náutico (1:6.56) took first place, and in men, Mário Bonança, from Vikings de Portugal (56:58) won.
Over 1,500 km, absolute, Miguel Rodrigues, Vikings of Portugal, won with a time of 27:20, followed by Guilherme de Sousa (CNIL), 29:28 and Welwitschia Silva (CNIL) 39:1.
The race, which had the participation of 84 athletes, is part of the 447 years of foundation of the capital city, marked on the 25th of this month.
