Head of the Military House ends visit to the Republic of Serbia

Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of State and head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Furtado, attended, between the 25th and 28th of the month, a course in the Republic of Serbia, a working visit as part of the reinforcement of military cooperation shared by both countries.

During his stay in Belgrade, Francisco Furtado delivered to the Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign Policy and Security of Serbia, Ivica Davic, a missive from President João Lourenço, addressed to the Serbian Head of State, Aleksandar Vucić. Afterwards, both addressed issues of bilateral interest.

Still in Belgrade, the Minister of State was received by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, Milos Vucević, with the occasion serving for both to address the development of bilateral cooperation relations in terms of Defence.

In continuation of the work program in Serbian territory, Francisco Furtado also held several meetings with the presidents of Serbian companies with representation in Angola, including Yumco, Vlatacom, Jomil, Planum and Yogoimport. The meetings served to deal with pending issues of various kinds in the field of Defense and national reconstruction.

At the meeting he held with the dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Serbia, Vladimir Popović, the possibility of training Angolan military personnel in Serbia was studied, as well as the presentation of projects developed by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering there, for possible cooperation with Angola on a commercial and military level.

On the second and last day of his visit to Serbia, Francisco Furtado went to the Nikinci polygon, where he saw an exhibition of war material produced in Serbia, which can be sold under bilateral agreements between the countries.

In the final stage of his stay in Serbia, the head of the Military House of the President of the Republic met with Angolan cadets undergoing training at the Military Technological Institute and at the Military Academy of the Republic of Serbia.
