Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Furtado, highlighted the importance of inserting new general officers at different levels in the institution.
Speaking this Monday at the inauguration ceremony of those responsible for the body, Francisco Furtado, exhorted the general officers of the Angolan Armed Forces, who are now members of the body, to zealously fulfill the missions entrusted to them.
“A general officer has to know how to behave. He has to have a standard behavior, based on ethics, decorum and cordiality”, he expressed.
Francisco Furtado also urged greater vigilance and coordination in combating actions against the integrity of the Angolan State.
The Minister of State demanded proactive rather than reactive action against these actions.
In his speech, he said that the objective is to empower, in advance, the investigation and public security bodies, so that they can act in favor of order and national sovereignty.
Recently appointed by the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, secretaries, consultants, directors and commanders of the subordinate units that constitute the direction and leadership of the Military House of the President of the Republic were sworn in.
According to Francisco Furtado, this is a bet focused on the gradual rejuvenation of this structure, taking advantage of the skills and abilities of emerging young people, to start the new cycle aimed at generational transition.
“The general class has a lot of responsibility (…) and does not sympathize with less dignified acts, whose repercussions impact not only the class, but society itself”, he observed.
The ruler stated that promotion to the rank of general represents the highest manifestation of trust and gives the military the authority to carry out complex functions.
