Africa-Press – Angola. The deputies to the National Assembly from the provincial circle of Uíge highlighted Tuesday, the need for greater rigor in the inspection of the works of the Integrated Intervention Plan in Municipalities (PIIM), Program to Combat Hunger and Poverty, Kwenda and other social initiatives.

In the presentation of the program of local deputies for the year 2022/2023 to the Government of the Province of Uíge, the coordinator of deputies to the National Assembly for the provincial circle, Nazaré dos Anjos Mendes, pointed out, as a priority, the stagnation of ravines and rehabilitation of roads in the Buengas and Milunga.

Regarding the work agenda, he said that they will interact with the provincial departments, public and private higher education institutions, to verify the problems, as well as the resolution of existing constraints in the local education system.

At the meeting, the provincial governor of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, referred that the priority is to complete the infrastructures underway in Uíge province, such as schools, hospitals and the electrification of 13 missing municipalities.

For the realization of this project, the government official said he was counting on the union and effort of all the actors in society.

About ongoing projects in Uíge

More than 20 social infrastructures were inaugurated, in a total of more than 90 works of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), underway since 2020 in the province of Uíge.

Kwenda disbursed a total of AOA 1.3 billion, benefiting 11,392 households in Songo municipalities and 9,182 in Mucaba.

The Social Protection Strengthening program “Kwenda”, through the Social Support Fund (FAS), registered 36,844 families in the municipalities of Songo, Mucaba and Cangola.
