Africa-Press – Angola. The Agostinho Neto Memorial and the Fidel Castro Ruz Center concluded this Thursday, in Havana, Cuba, the counter-signature of the cooperation agreement between both institutions.

The agreement, which will allow historical dissemination, scientific exchange, as well as rescue, preservation and cultural socialization, had already been signed by the Angolan side, in Luanda, on the 16th of this month, by the director general of the Memorial Agostinho Neto, António Fonseca.

The agreement was signed, on the Cuban side, by the director of the Fidel Castro Center, Rene Barrios, who considered the initiative highly commendable because the ties between Agostinho Neto and Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz are the basis of the indestructible historical brotherhood between Cuba and Angola.

According to a press release, the two public institutions are destined to disseminate, study and investigate the thought and work of the outstanding political leaders of Angola and Cuba.

According to Francisco Makiesse, Deputy Director General of Memorial Agostinho Neto, who was present at the ceremony, “the cooperation between the two institutions is the indispensable symbol for the reconstruction, recreation of history and so that the new generations can learn and get to know the two leaders who contributed to the achievement of peace, harmony, unity and solidarity among peoples.
