Government reiterates commitment to building school infrastructure

Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Lunda Sul, Daniel Neto, said Friday, that the local government will continue to focus on building school infrastructure for different education subsystems, with a view to enabling the training of young people in the region.

The minister made such considerations on the occasion of the 14th of April, National Day of Angolan Youth, which yesterday marks, having underlined that the construction of various school infrastructures is notorious, with emphasis on the university field, affecting the Lueji A’nkonde University, to accommodate students and ensure a better quality education.

He also said that in the field of higher education, the Government is working on creating conditions to implement a Higher Private Institute.

He added that the government has been working together with the Ministry of Higher Education to detach the autonomy of the Lueji A’nkonde university, as has happened in other provinces.

He underlined that the construction of more schools will also allow the growth of the youth’s intellect at all levels, since academic and professional training constitutes the fundamental basis for youth instruction, in order to help in the construction of the country, as well as being prepared to face the challenges of society.

On the other hand, he said that the youth has always shown maturity and patriotic awareness, corresponding to expectations on all fronts where they are engaged, ensuring excellent involvement and dedication in tasks for the development of the region.

He appealed to young people to think more for the country (Angola) and in particular for Lunda Sul, to be committed to promoting peace and social stability.

“Young people must refrain from all types of behavior that harm the democratic state, tranquility and order, as well as the excessive use of alcohol and drugs,” he added.

Young people from the four municipalities of the province, namely Cacolo, Dala, Muconda and Saurimo, participated in the act.

The act, which took place in the city of Saurimo, culminated with the delivery of three-wheel motorcycles, computers and books, to various associations and youth organizations based in the province.
