Africa-Press – Angola. The municipal administrator of Moxico (headquarters), Constantino Sachamuaha, said he was committed to implementing actions to develop the district and respond to the wishes of the population.
According to the leader, who was speaking about the social and economic situation of this municipality in the province of the same name (Moxico), said that the main actions to be implemented to put the region on the path of development have already been identified.
Leading the Municipality of Moxico for five months, without listing, Sachamuaha promises to materialize a Development Plan that prioritizes more health infrastructures, to decongest the current ones, as well as classrooms, with the aim of housing 27 thousand children who found outside the education system.
Still in the field of education, he said that throughout this mandate, the Municipal Administration of Moxico will build the “desired” Municipal Library requested by the citizens, to help them in research activities, judging by the growth of the academic community in the region.
According to the official, the improvement of basic sanitation in the region is another problem that must be overcome with greater urgency, understanding that it is the main cause of flooding in local hospitals, due to the rate of spread of diseases provided by garbage.
Rehabilitation of the gardens located in front of the Municipal Administration and the Environment, which have needed intervention for many years, is another priority throughout his management, with the aim of improving the image of the city of Luena.
“Developing this municipality is the legacy I intend to leave for the new generations”, he promised.
Horácio Sachamuha said that for the current economic year (2023), the Municipal Administration has a budget of over three billion kwanzas, for the implementation of its projects, as well as salary payments.
He announced the start of implementation of the Urban Plan in the town of Canda, north of the city of Luena, which provides for the provision of spaces to the population for self-directed construction, with the support of the Municipal Administration.
Within the framework of the Local Development and Combating Poverty Program (PIDLCP), annually budgeted at 300 million kwanzas, he said he would continue to purchase agricultural inputs, sewing machines, three-wheel motorbikes to support the most needy families and purchase materials for the massification of sport in communities.
According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the municipality of Moxico has 468,409 people, of which 51 percent are women.
The circumscription has three communes, namely Lucusse, Cangumbe, Muangai and 293 subdivisions between neighborhoods, villages and settlements.
