Africa-Press – Angola. The continuous training and training of the staff of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) was, this Wednesday, pointed out, in Mbanza Kongo, Zaire, as a “key” for the provision of a public service of excellence by this body of the Ministry of the Interior.

According to the interim provincial director of the SME, chief migration superintendent Domingos Simão, the permanent training of the staff will make it possible to respond to the challenges of the new work technologies made available to the staff.

He underlined that, in the practice of border offences, the perpetrators use new and modern information technologies to deceive the competent authorities, which is why it is considered important that the staff of the SME master these tools to counteract such intentions.

From January to December 2022, the SME in Zaire questioned and detained 2,869 citizens of different nationalities, for illegally entering and staying in the national territory, 69 less compared to the same period in 2021.

Three thousand and 595 citizens of the DRC were expelled, of which 44 by administrative decision and three thousand and 551 by court order.
