Africa-Press – Angola. Without revealing the strategy, the Secretariat of the Political Bureau of the MPLA appreciated the Draft Directive on the main lines of force for the organization of political acts in the pre-campaign and electoral campaign phases for this year.
According to the final communiqué of the third ordinary meeting, held at Futungo II, in Luanda, under the guidance of Paulo Pombolo, secretary general of the MPLA, the Secretariat of the Political Bureau considered, essentially, internal matters, with emphasis on the documents governing the actions to prepare the party for the General Elections next August.
In this sense, the document adds, the appeal was reiterated for the massive participation of all potential voters in the unofficial registration process for the acquisition of legitimacy for the exercise of the vote, a process that, for the first time, is extended to Angolan communities abroad. , representing the strengthening of democracy, inclusion and comprehensiveness in the forms of citizen participation in governance matters.
The Secretariat of the Political Bureau also addressed various issues of the country’s political, social and economic life, highlighting the positive appreciation of the Executive’s efforts to increase the National Minimum Wage, a measure that aims to give Angolan families the power to purchase, affected by the country’s economic situation, with greater impact on the lower classes.
Finally, he welcomed the encouraging results of the epidemiological situation regarding Covid-19 in Angola, urging Angolans to remain firm in complying with the rules and measures determined by the health authorities in the fight against the pandemic, in particular with regard to vaccination, as the only condition to return, as quickly as possible, to normality.
