Africa-Press – Angola. A book fair was held Sunday, in this city, by the “Lev’Arte” Literary Movement, embodied in the sale of literary works and encouragement of a taste for reading among young people.

The fair is part of the world book day, which is being celebrated on sunday, as well as the book week project, carried out by the Lev’Arte Movement, with the aim of promoting literature.

Running until the 30th of this month, the book week program will also include tributes to young people, poetry recitals and other artistic and cultural activities.

In an interview, the provincial Marketing coordinator of the aforementioned Movement, Domingos Jorge, said that in addition to selling books, the event fundamentally aims to challenge young people to reflect on the intellectual and literary development of Malanje.

World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated annually on April 23 and was proclaimed at the 28th General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in 1995, with a view to encouraging reading and promoting copyright protection.

More than 20 exhibitors are taking part in the fair, out of the 100 that make up the Movement.
