Africa-Press – Angola. Historian Rosa Cruz e Silva spoke today, Wednesday, in Luanda, of the need to review moral and cultural values and methods of transmitting them, in order to improve the results of the process of education of Angolan youth.

Rosa Cruz e Silva, who was speaking at the lecture on “Education for a culture of peace and citizenship among the Angolan youth”, considered the current reality sad because a large part of the youth is prone to conflicts.

For him, any type of diagnosis would include society and legal instruments, so he suggested a quick reading to adjust to today’s country.

Several diagnoses can be made, he said, such as insufficiencies due to the heavy colonial heritage, a fact that requires new approaches to programmatic content.

For her part, the president of the group of women parliamentarians, Teresa Neto, pointed to families and schools as key elements to reverse the situation, although she recognizes that it requires the commitment of all citizens to ensure that society is based on attitudes healthy and acceptable.

He reiterated that Angola has a mostly young population, hence the need to raise awareness of this fringe about the culture of peacekeeping, a fact that requires a new mentality.

The event is organized by the Group of Women Parliamentarians and was attended by professors, students, as well as civil and religious associations.
