Africa-Press – Angola. Five hundred and thirty-five citizens were placed in companies in the civil construction and fishing sectors, in the first quarter of this year, in Benguela province, through the local Employment Centre.

This information was given today, Thursday, by the head of provincial services in Benguela of the National Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP), António Manuel Paulo, referring that there are 396 men and 139 women.

The official said that in 2022 there were more job opportunities, due to the 917 jobs created in a similar period.

António Paulo reported that the number of monthly job requests is above 500.

In terms of the 10 municipalities in the province, according to the source, those that offer the most job opportunities are those on the coast, namely Lobito, Catumbela and Benguela, while those that employ the least are Chongoroi, Balombo and Bocoio.

“It is notorious, with some concern, the lack of knowledge on the part of some young people who do not go to the Employment Center to register for job vacancies”, he emphasized.

He referred that INEFOP has been working on raising the awareness of some companies, in the sense of going to the Employment Center whenever they need workers.

“In this way, they would be ensuring that job offers were filled by competent professionals”, he alluded.

The province of Benguela has an estimated population of around two and a half million inhabitants, mostly young people. It has great potential in the agricultural, maritime and livestock sectors, in addition to housing the second largest industrial park in the country.
