Africa-Press – Angola. The National Institute of Judicial Studies (INEJ) begins, in March, the training of 100 new magistrates, announced yesterday, in Dundo, Lunda-Norte, the Attorney General of the Republic. Helder Pitta Groz.

Speaking to the press, at the end of the Second Annual Meeting of Balance of the activities carried out by the PGR in the provinces of the East Judiciary region, which serves the provinces of Lunda-Norte, Lunda-Sul and Moxico, Hélder Pitta Groz said that the training must end within of two years.

He acknowledged that, in the Eastern Region, there is a considerable increase in Public Prosecutor ‘s Office magistrates with a master’s degree, “which demonstrates an interest in the need for professional improvement”. Public and justice technicians from all over the country, with a view to specializing and improving services.

Hélder Pitta Groz admitted that there is a shortage of magistrates and technicians throughout the country. “That is why we are in the phase of opening a public tender to absorb over 450 justice technicians. We know that it will not completely solve the shortage of staff in the sector, but it will help to reduce the needs”, he pointed out.

Hélder Pitta Groz admitted, on the other hand, that “there are many ongoing processes” for the recovery of State assets, both in the country and abroad, but did not advance numbers. He recalled that, particularly abroad, the work of recovery of assets needs the cooperation of counterpart institutions and other bodies involved in the fight against corruption.

“We have many cases abroad, which will require international cooperation with different countries to be resolved. It is an incessant struggle, we are in complete harmony, trying to do the best we can so that at the end of everything justice is done”, he clarified.

Despite the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, including the financial difficulties that the country and the world are going through, the Attorney General of the Republic, Hélder Pitta Grós considered the activities carried out in the eastern judicial region to be relevant, due to the fact that the services remain Hélder Pitta Groz took

The debriefing meeting took place under the motto “PGR in defense of the best interests of minors” and addressed issues such as “The Public Contracts Law as a tool to fight Corruption”, “The Role of the Public Ministry in the Processes of Establishing Parental Affiliation” and “Orphanological Inventory for Death Whenever There are Minors”.
