Africa-Press – Angola. The General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE) in Cunene is strengthening the mechanism for raising the legal awareness of citizens, with particular emphasis on those in rural areas, with a view to allowing greater adherence to cases of complaints.
The fact was advanced today, Friday, by the delegate of the IGAE in Cunene, Moisés Sovi, stressing that the plan to raise awareness of the communities, via the media, is in the portfolio, not only in the Portuguese language, but in the different local languages in order to get the message across.
“We have a project that is running which is the publicity support translated into local languages, which will be disseminated on local radios to mobilize citizens to denounce when they feel their rights have been violated”, he underlined.
This time, he said that through the denunciations, complaints and complaints department, telephone contact is available and any citizen who has difficulties interpreting Portuguese can do so in the local language.
Moisés Sovi admitted that many citizens have difficulties in identifying matters to be reported, a fact that requires help from professional associations, in order to raise the legal culture of citizens.
In this support, he added, there are messages about the importance and role played by the institution, its location and its work objects, in order to bring users closer to the IGAI.
IGAI notifies eight complaints in three months
However, he made it known that in the first quarter of the current year, the IGAI notified only eight complaints, complaints and public complaints.
The IGAE delegate in Cunene said that the complaints in question are related to various improbities and administrative irregularities, which resulted in the opening of eight cases, whose irregularities were denounced by workers.
The delegate made it known that during the period in question, inspections of a general nature were carried out at the Health office, General Hospital of Ondjiva (Ekuma) and at the Municipal Administration of Cuanhama.
As for the administration of Cuanhama, he said that 17 different projects were identified, including school lunches, which culminated in visits to the construction works of the health center in Ombulunganga, medicine storage in Onahuma, construction and equipment for the residential projects in Nehone and Evale.
Moisés Sovi said that during the inspection actions, non-compliance with contractual deadlines was detected, with advance payments and the contractors were unable to comply with the execution deadlines, as well as the quality of the work carried out.
He also pointed out the registration of 152 telephone calls, with the institution’s Call Center, of which 115 were unsuccessful, 34 were transferred and three were successful, which allowed for the opening of a process.
The IGAE, created on January 17, 1992, is an auxiliary body of the President of the Republic, with the mission of carrying out internal control of public administration.
The administrative internal control of the public administration, of the IGAI, is carried out through the inspection, inspection, audit, supervision, controls, investigation and inquiries of all bodies, agencies and services of the direct and indirect administration of the State, as well as of the autonomous administrations.
