Africa-Press – Angola. The discovery of new female talents in the field of handball, athletics, basketball, football, among others, requires the Association of Women and Sports (AMUD) in Huambo to create municipal nuclei, according to its delegate, Ana Paula Mário.

The official said that the initiative, with kick-off scheduled for the municipality of Chinjenje, on the 18th of the current month, aims to contribute to the actions of the Executive aimed at eliminating prejudice and inequalities, between men and women, in sports matters.

After the creation of the Chinjenje core, he said, the municipalities of Caála, Londuimbali and Ucuma will follow, with a view to the massification of handball, athletics, basketball, football, futsal, swimming, volleyball, chess and combat sports.

Ana Paula Mário informed that the dynamic also includes the promotion and massification of traditional games, namely sack races, bottle races, chair games, zero, 35 wins, accidents, pebbles and rope jumping, in the 11 municipalities that make up the province of Huambo.

He explained that the traditional games, whose relaunch took place last February, in the city of Huambo, have to do with recreational, recreational and cultural activities, practiced by children, young people and adults of a given community or society, depending on their socio-cultural values, with the need to be perpetuated, through transmission from generation to generation.

The former Sport Huambo e Benfica (Mambroa) runner in the 100, 1500 meters and long distance, with participation in three editions of São Silvestre de (1985, 1986 and 1987), said that the creation of the municipal nuclei aims to also bring together the former and current practitioners of various sports, focusing on the emancipation and empowerment of women.

Ana Paula Mário, current futsal player, played, between 1987 and 1991, football in Inter do Huambo.

Created in 2007, AMUD brings together women involved in the most diverse sports from handball, athletics, basketball, football, futsal, swimming, volleyball, chess and combat sports.
