Africa-Press – Angola. The company CRDS de Eventos Desportivo e Cultural holds, today, at 10:00 am, the second press conference for the presentation of the technical, medical, protocol and sponsors teams of the international half marathon event at the Skina Hotel, in downtown Luanda.

The 21.0975-kilometre road race is scheduled for April 4, with the starting gun at 8:00 am at Rua das Kipakas (Zona do Bungo) and finishing at the António Agostinho Neto Memorial, in Praia do Bispo.

After the start, the race continues on the left to Avenida 4 de Fevereiro (formerly Luanda’s Marginal) along its entire length, passing through Rua Murtala Mohamed to Farol Velho (Ilha do Cabo) and returns upwards to the Memorial Antonio Agostinho Neto.

For this event, the presence of runners Abe Gashahun, Getachen Masrasha, Beyenu Degefa, Meserete Belete and Zenebu Fikadu (Ethiopia), Philemon Kiplagat (Kenya) and Álvaro Candeias (Portugal) are confirmed.

In addition to these, athletes from South Africa, Morocco, Uganda and Zimbabwe will also compete.

In January, CRDS Eventos Desportivo e Cultural signed a protocol with Tchaco Sports, for the timing of the road race.

To participate in the race, registration is free and started on the 26th of January through the online platform and ends on the 15th of March.

Registration is free, but when picking up the race kits, you must pay 500 kwanzas.

According to Carlos Rosa, from the company CRDS Eventos, the money will be delivered to a childhood home.

On the 15th of March, in-person registrations will begin at the Cidadela Complex, Casa da Juventude (Municipality of Viana), in the Port of Luanda and in Largo do Baleizão (Baixa de Luanda).

The winners of the international half marathon, in the men’s and women’s class, will each pocket six thousand dollars.

The international half marathon was publicly presented on the 25th of January, at Tenda Baía de Luanda, on Avenida 4 de Fevereiro, as part of the celebrations for the foundation of the country’s capital.
