Africa-Press – Angola. The National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA) assured this Friday, in Luanda, the suitability for consumption of chicken and its by-products sold on the national market.

According to the inspector general of ANIESA, Diógenes de Oliveira, in response to the complaints made on social networks regarding the poor condition of the referenced foods, the products comply with all the legal assumptions of aptitude for human consumption, there is no impediment to their use .

Speaking on the sidelines of a concertation meeting with the biggest importers in the national economic circuit, he made it known that this confirmation is from all the major operators through the analyzes carried out, through laboratory tests.

In the opinion of ANIESA’s general inspector, “the market is regulated by the will of the consumer and the preferences of buyers define the types of product in some market”.

The National Director of Foreign Trade, Augusta Fortes, indicated that there is no law in the country that prohibits the entry of these products, but rather Presidential Decree number 126/20 of May 5 that regulates import and export procedures.

For this reason, according to her, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce promoted a meeting with the 15 largest importers of chicken and its derivatives to together reflect on the form of applicable procedures for importing these products.

ANIESA, a body attached to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, has its line of action focused on guaranteeing food safety.
