Africa-Press – Angola. Approaches on facilitating the issuance of visas, using credit cards and focusing on foreign languages, to attract more investors, were the main contributions presented by International Organizations, Development Agencies and Diplomatic Missions for Long-Term Strategy ( ELP – Angola 2050).

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the meeting promoted by the Government, the ambassador and head of the European Union (EU) delegation in Angola, Jeannette Seppen, underlined that, for the Angolan economy to have greater visibility, it is essential that the Government invest in foreign languages such as English and French to attract more investors.

He suggested that in addition to investing in languages, it is also important to invest in the environment, to increase the circular economy, which also contributes to economic and commercial growth.

He stressed that the strategy is in line with the EU program that supports economic diversification, as well as issues of governance and the development of human capital.

In his view, the fact that the country’s population growth for 2050 points to close to 70 million inhabitants, “on the one hand, it can be beneficial, but on the other hand, it can be challenging”.

The representative of the United Nations Children’s Organization (UNICEF), Louise Moreira, says she is satisfied with the ELP and is committed to continuing to help to reduce poverty at the national level.

Meanwhile, the Swedish ambassador, Lennart Larsson, informed that he will promote Angola abroad, within the scope of relations and “invite Swedish businessmen to invest in the country, mainly in the southern part”.

The Angola 2050 Long-Term Strategy (PLS) intends to obtain the contribution of large public and private, collective and individual actors with high experience and knowledge in the different sectors of activity.

According to the Government, the strategy could bring a global vision to Angola and its role at an international level in the next 30 years.
