Africa-Press – Angola. The Provincial Government of Lunda Norte will draw up measures to combat disorderly construction, a phenomenon with a negative impact on the implementation of structuring projects.

The information was provided this Tuesday by the deputy governor for Technical Services and Infrastructures, Domingos Dala, during a meeting with the Municipal Council for Auscultation of the Communities of Chitato, in which he underlined that the measures to be implemented aim to avoid errors in the allocation of plots of land, within the scope of the directed self-construction programme.

“People build without obeying the rules, they don’t know the limits of their land, they close the streets, and all this creates many constraints in the implementation of social projects in the neighborhoods that arise, because we don’t supervise properly”, he stressed.

He informed that municipal administrations should, from now on, create basic services, such as access roads, drainage ditches, energy, water, health and education, before distributing land for self-directed construction.

“In the past, several disorganized neighborhoods emerged because there was no strict monitoring by municipal administrations in the construction of residences and, more importantly, basic services such as access roads, energy, water, health, education, among others, were not created. these mistakes we want to correct now, “he stressed.

He said that in the process of distributing plots of land, municipal administrations should create databases to avoid assigning land to two people, as has been the case.

On the other hand, he stated that the government intends to create agrovillages in several communities, to promote agriculture, following the example of Aldeia Camela Amões, in Huambo.

To this end, he underlined, some villages with agricultural potential will be identified, for the implementation of the “Agrovila” project.

The Lunda Norte government consulted this week the 10 Community Consultation Councils, for the elaboration of a program for the distribution of plots of land, within the scope of directed self-construction
