Government wants more investment in the private sector by 2050

Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Government intends to achieve greater investment in the private sector, by 2050, with a view to leveraging the country’s economy, said Tuesday, the Secretary of State for Planning, Milton Reis.

When conducting a public consultation session with civil society and the media, around the “Long-Term Strategy Angola 2050”, he stressed that the Government wants a paradigm shift, privileging the private sector to the detriment of the public sector.

“The Government’s vision is to ensure macroeconomic balance, and open up more foreign investment so that all of Angola has good and standardized services”, underlined the official.

According to the Secretary, the ELP/2050 is the basic tool for drawing up the National Development Plan, as it presents the strategic options for the country’s long-term growth, drawn up based on the analysis of centenarians, whether at national, sectoral or territorial.

Milton Reis explained that the document has a global vision for Angola and internationally, in the next 30 years.

He made it known that it brings five priority axes for development, namely a diversified and prosperous economy”, a modern and competitive infrastructure, a society that values ​​and enhances its human capital and a resilient and sustainable ecosystem and a just and fair nation. with equal opportunities.

This process began in 2019, pursuant to Presidential Decree number 11/17 which created the Multisectoral Commission to review the extension of the vision until the year 2050.

The Secretary of State appealed for the contribution of the whole society, since the document is public and can be consulted on the ministry’s website, where people can also leave their opinions in writing.
