Africa-Press – Angola. The relaunch of the logistics platform of the Lobito Corridor constitutes an opportunity for the economy and an important source of employment, mainly for youth, said this Wednesday, the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior.
The official made these remarks during the opening of the twelfth edition of the Benguela International Fair (FIB), which will run until the 27th of May, with the main theme “the Lobito Corridor”.
According to Manuel NunesJúnior, the entry into operation of the “Atlantic Railway” Consortium, which will take care of the implementation of this important route, is coming soon.
“In this great effort that we are making to increase national production, we must always count on the cooperation of those countries that want to work with us”, he warned.
By the way, he said that Angola is a country open to the world and, in this “great work” that is being done to strengthen its productive base, Angolan businessmen are open to forming partnerships with other countries possessing know-how, so that quickly start to have access to the best that the world has to offer.
Referring to the FIB, he said it was yet another opportunity to present investors with the economic potential of the province and what various sectors of the economy have been doing.
The geographical position of the province of Benguela constitutes a special privilege, as, in addition to being a turntable that gives access to all regions of the country, it includes the Port of Lobito and the Benguela Railway, he said.
More than 300 companies, national and foreign, participate in the presence of the FIB edition, with emphasis on the branches of civil construction, food industry, beverages, banking, telecommunications, agriculture and livestock, fisheries, provision of services, insurance, among others.
In his opinion, this characteristic makes the province “a center of great economic potential in the country, with great capacity to attract important national and foreign investors.
