Africa-Press – Angola. An Angolan delegation, led by the Secretary of State for Justice, Evaristo Solano, will participate from the 22nd to the 26th of this month, in Vienna (Austria), in the 32nd session of the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice ( CCPCJ).

The delegation includes the Secretary of State for Climate Action and Sustainable Development, Paula Francisco Coelho, representatives of the sectors of Justice and Human Rights, the Environment, the Attorney General’s Office and the Ministry of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland , the Financial Information Unit and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Angola to the United Nations in Vienna.

According to a press note, the 32nd session of the CCPCJ addresses issues related to Transnational Organized Crime and its Protocols, international instruments to prevent and combat terrorism and others related to crime prevention and criminal justice.

It also appreciates the mechanisms for improving child protection and contributions towards achieving the goal of sustainable development in general, and in particular goal 16 – on peace, justice and effective institutions.

The event, held on the sidelines of the plenary session in a hybrid format by the Born Free organization, with the support of the republics of Angola and Peru, allowed a more general assessment of the position of the Member States, related to the issues of the need to safeguard species of general and, in particular, the need for strong institutions for the protection of biodiversity.

The United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice meets annually in Vienna.
