Africa-Press – Angola. Bilateral and inter-parliamentary cooperation between Angola and Egypt dominated the meeting between the Angolan ambassador, Nelson Cosme, and the President of the Egyptian Parliament, Hanafi Jebali.

During the meeting, which was attended by African Group Ambassadors accredited in Egypt, the two individuals spoke about the importance of strengthening interparliamentary ties between the two countries, as well as the creation of friendship groups.

Hanafi Jebali took the opportunity to thank the President of the Angolan Parliament, Carolina Cerqueira, for the invitation to participate in the 147th General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union (UIP), to be held in Luanda, from 23 to 27 October this year, as well as the willingness to strengthen cooperation.

In another domain, Hanafi Jebali appealed for solidarity and the efforts of all African countries towards Sudan, so that this country achieves peace, security and stability, so that it resumes its place in the mending of nations.

Relations between the Republic of Angola and the Arab Republic of Egypt date back to the 1960s, with the involvement of Angolan nationalists in the struggle for independence, having been strengthened in 1976 with the opening of the Embassy in that country in North Africa.
