Africa-Press – Angola. A 44-year-old national citizen was arrested in the city of Sumbe in possession of a counterfeit bill of one million dollars, said this Friday the head of the Department of Organized Crimes of the Investigation Service. Criminal (SIC) in Cuanza Sul, Rodrigues Neto.
According to the person in charge, the accused was arrested Thursday when he intended to enter a banking institution with the aim of introducing the counterfeit USD one million note in the financial circuit in exchange for national currency (Kwanza).
He referred that from the criminal intelligence work carried out by the SIC it was possible to detain four other individuals, aged between 30 and 51 years old, supposedly members of the same criminal network.
He informed that the process has already been referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for due treatment.
This is the first case registered this year by the Criminal Investigation Service in Cuanza Sul.
