Africa-Press – Angola. Sixty low-income families, in Cazenga, in Luanda, who are dedicated to raising and selling eggs and poultry, received 500 chicks from the local Administration, on Saturday (27), as part of the poultry activity, said Monday Monday, the local director of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Alcênio Mabonzo,

Of this number, at least each family received close to 10 chicks, with a view to promoting urban poultry farming in the production of poultry, eggs and meat derivatives, in an action framed in the program of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

Speaking to press on the subject, director Alcénio Mabonzo made it known that the intention is to empower breeders to reduce the import and consumption of poultry and chickens and the impact of product prices on the country’s trade balance.

He added that the families contemplated, at the level of the six urban districts, were identified and registered in the database of its Directorate, in advance.

He also advanced that Cazenga intends, with gender initiatives, to rescue the “fame” of the municipality with more aviaries, as in the past.
