Africa-Press – Angola. A MPLA parliamentary delegation, from the provincial cycle of Luanda, applauded this Monday, the infrastructural development of the village of Catete, municipality of Icolo e Bengo, as a result of the implementation of the “Cement, Brick and Paint” project .

The ongoing project since February of this year has already allowed for the requalification and restructuring of 74 residences, the construction of three T2 and T3 type houses, as well as the improvement of sidewalks and backyard walls.

The program that covers the communes of Cabiri, Bom Jesus and the village of Catete, is embodied in the painting of facades, towing, building backyard walls and the construction of residences from scratch.

Speaking to ANGOP, the MPLA deputy, Ana Alves Cordeiro, who leads the parliamentary group on a four-day visit to the municipality of Icolo e Bengo, said that the improvements in the residences are visible, with painted facades and paved streets.

“We are here to assess local development and we were positively surprised, seeing that Icolo e Bengo is changing its image and progressing, with the Cement, Brick and Paint project”, he acknowledged.

He referred that as a result of the intervention of the local administration, in the improvement of the infrastructures, the happiness and satisfaction of the population can be noticed.

It should be remembered that, with a view to improving the municipality’s image and raising the quality of life of citizens, the local administrator, Nelson Funete, designed several projects, including “Light in My Band”, “Administrator in Your Neighborhood” and “Bread at the Door”.

The MPLA parliamentary delegation will, in the coming days, find out about the degree of execution of the works of the Integrated Program of Intervention in the Municipality (PIIM) and socioeconomic development projects in the communes of Calculus Cahango, Cassoneca and urban districts of Bela Vista and catheter.

On this first day of the visit, the parliamentarians verified the level of physical execution of a school with 12 classrooms, in Catete, the “Cimento, Bijolo e Tinta” project and the 220 houses built in the village of Caxicane, to house the 163 families displaced in 2021, from the slopes of the neighborhoods of Samba (Maianga) and Korea (Ingombota).
