Minister of the Interior appeals to the respect of the citizen

Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of the Interior, Eugénio Laborinho, appealed, this Tuesday, in Luanda, for ethical behavior and respect from the citizen, for the National Police personnel in the performance of their duties.

At the end of the 20th course for the corporation’s staff, at the Higher Institute of Police and Criminal Sciences Osvaldo Serra Van-Dúnem, the official asked the staff to observe ethics and professional deontology.

On the occasion, the minister exhorted people to self-denial, delivery and sacrifice in the exercise of their activities and to act within the framework of the knowledge acquired during police training.

Eugénio Laborinho considered it essential to intensify prevention actions, combating crime, proximity policing and the strengthening of dialogue with communities and, above all, with youth.

As for the course, the minister stated that it fits into the strategy of the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), João Lourenço.

The aforementioned strategy focuses on ensuring employment for young people who have completed military service, after the availability leave.

Present at the event, the General Commander of the National Police of Angola (PNA), Arnaldo Carlos, underlined the challenges of public safety, the fight against crime and road accidents.

Among the graduates, special mention should be made of personnel licensed in the Military Service of the Angolan Armed Forces, and former students of the José Alfredo Ekukui Police College.
