Africa-Press – Angola. A gala called “Tricolores de Ouro’2023” brought together, this Sunday, the champions of the core sports, namely basketball, football and women’s handball of Petro de Luanda
The ceremony paid tribute, posthumously, to the former vice-president of the club, Alfredo Soares, who died in May, a victim of illness.
In addition to the exhibition of the trophies won, the players of the respective sports received banners of champions.
Speaking to those present, the chairman of Petro de Luanda, Tomás Faria, said it was a preponderant moment, as the institution he headed had fulfilled the objectives defined for the current season.
About Alfredo Soares, he said he was a professional who worked hard for the club to be the reference that it is yesterday.
Football won the Super Cup, revalidated the title of the National Championship “Girabola’2023”, as well as the Angola Cup.
This season, men’s basketball won the National Championship, Angola Cup and Super Cup.
Women’s handball won the African Super Cup and Champions Clubs’ Cup.
