Africa-Press – Angola. More than 100 children from Lar Kuzola were encouraged, this Friday, in Luanda, to the habit of reading, in an initiative of the Agostinho Neto cultural centre.

The activity, part of the African Children’s Day, which is celebrated, took place under the motto “The importance of books and reading for the development of the child” and served to promote a broad approach on reading in the development of the child.

Children from 6 to 10 years old participated in the event, who also had the opportunity to learn more about the life and work of the first President of the Nation António Agostinho Neto, through a visit to the photographic exhibition on site.

By the way, the writer Yola Castro said that the taste for reading is a practice that brings numerous benefits to readers and, when stimulated from childhood, the positive impacts can be much greater.

Through it, he continued, he said, children develop concentration, memory, reasoning and understanding, as well as stimulate oral language and expand their creative capacity.
