Africa-Press – Angola. The bishop of the Tocoista church, Dom Afonso Nunes, Friday appealed to the government to adopt policies to improve employability, with the aim of providing better living conditions for children.
The priest made the appeal at the reflection meeting on children in Angola, held under the motto “For a Church Committed to Children-Let’s Think about the Future of the Nation”.
On the occasion, he argued that one should think about the common good, the improvement of the education and health sectors and avoid the scenario of students studying under trees, without conditions.
According to the religious, the Executive should continue to focus on building schools and training teachers at a national level.
He affirmed that love of neighbor must be a feeling cultivated from the earliest age, so that the change of attitude within the citizen is made automatically.
The prelate criticized abortion, homosexuality and other behaviors, which, in his opinion, are deviant practices in society and a moral depravity resulting from cultures coming from more advanced continents.
Child abduction and human organ trafficking were also deplored by the religious, who asked the government to improve child protection policies.
“The phenomenon of children on the street must end, coercing parents to assume their responsibilities, protecting their children at home, preventing them from running the risk of being taken by people with bad intentions, to the point of being sacrificed and their organs removed” , urged.
For Dom Afonso Nunes, all social actors must commit themselves to this challenge, from associations, churches and civil society, so that the situation can be reversed.
