Africa-Press – Angola. The parties also spoke of the need to reinforce exchanges of visits at the most different levels between the two countries, as well as addressing issues related to multilateralism with a focus on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The audience was attended by Ambassador Miguel Dialamicua, Director for Asia and Oceania at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and by the consultant of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Márcio Burity.

Also, yesterday, but in New Delhi, diplomat Clemente Pedro Francisco Camenha, designated ambassador of the Republic of Angola to the Republic of India, held a meeting with Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of that South Asian country.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of a reception with the diplomatic corps accredited in India, destined to take stock of the nine years of governance of Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India.

India is the most populous country in the world, the seventh largest by geographic area and the most populous democracy on the planet. Bounded to the south by the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea to the west, and the Bay of Bengal to the east, India has a coastline of 7,517 kilometers in length.

The country borders Pakistan to the west; China, Nepal and Bhutan to the North and Bangladesh and Myanmar to the East. The island countries of the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka and Maldives are located very close to India.

India is a republic consisting of 28 states and seven union territories, with a system of parliamentary democracy. The country is the sixth largest economy in the world by nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP), as well as the third largest in the world by GDP measured in Purchasing Power Parity. Economic reforms since 1991 have transformed the country into one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

However, India still suffers from high levels of poverty, with high rates of illiteracy, gender-based violence, disease and malnutrition.
