Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, left Luanda, this Thursday, for the city of Uíge, province of the same name, for a two-day working visit to that region.

At the Luanda Military Air Base, João Lourenço received farewell greetings from the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, and members of the Executive.

According to the visit programme, in Uíge João Lourenço will lead a meeting of the Local Governance Council, with the participation of the governors of the country’s 18 provinces and heads of ministerial departments.

The meeting will take place in two sessions, the first on Thursday afternoon and the second on Friday morning.

The Local Governance Council is the collegiate auxiliary body of the President of the Republic in the formulation and follow-up of the execution of the governance policies of the State Administration at local level.

The agenda of the President of the Republic in Uíge also includes a meeting with local authorities and a visit to the Agricultural Fair, which will showcase the region’s potential in this economic field.

The Head of State returns to the country’s capital on Friday afternoon.
