Africa-Press – Angola. Two of the four patients who survived a road accident that, on Wednesday, killed one person, on the National Road EN180, between the city of Luena and the commune of Lucusse, in Moxico province, remain in critical condition .

The information was passed today by the clinical director of the General Hospital of Moxico (HGM), Zadoque Miza, stating that of those citizens, two are still in critical condition, requiring care, as they suffered a fracture of the base of the skull.

He added that, despite continuing to receive assistance in the surgery service, they are aware and “well guided”.

The doctor highlighted the recovery of a patient who has already benefited from hospital discharge, while the other patient remains in the unit, because of a fracture he suffered in one of his lower limbs.

The accident occurred 102 kilometers away towards Luena/Lucusse, when the Land-Cruiser vehicle, which, in addition to people, was transporting 800 liters of fuel towards the municipality of Bundas, collided with the rear of a truck parked on that road .

One of the occupants, Odete Henriques, died on the spot, while the injured were transferred to the General Hospital of Moxico (HGM), with head trauma and serious fractures,

The driver of the light vehicle Augusto António, belonging to the company Logística e Transportes Integrado (LTI), said, at the time, that he was surprised by the parked vehicle.

However, police sources pointed to excessive speed as the cause of the accident.
