Africa-Press – Angola. Exhibitors present at the 9th edition of the banana fair, in the Panguila market, Bengo province, expressed their satisfaction today with the event taking place after a three-year interregnum, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The exhibitors stressed that the fair is the main showcase of the province’s potential, which is why it should take place every year to boost the region’s agribusiness.
Edna Monteiro, from the company Royal Empire, who participated for the first time, exhibited the novelty of the power tiller, a machine that does the same work as a tractor, but in small plots.
He said that the company is betting on solutions aimed at small farmers and cooperatives, to show that it is possible to do agriculture with other types of machines, other than the conventional tractor.

The company Quintas Comercial, on the other hand, exhibited various machinery solutions to serve the sector of transformation of agricultural products, such as the Mbombo brand mill, manufactured in Angola, and the peeling machine, important for small cooperatives and farmers.
The director general, Quintas Vascos, said that this was the fifth time he had participated in the event and that the experience had been fruitful, as it allowed him to do business of around 4 million Kwanzas.
“We have negotiations with the DRC who placed an order for five mills and taking into account the demand we are already thinking about opening a store in this country”, he said.
Decoration entrepreneur David Mendonça, from the company Rubras Service, said that the fair facilitated the establishment of various contacts for future business.
Nair Costa, entrepreneur in the hotel business, said that holding the fair allowed for an increase in the number of customers in her restaurant and, consequently, the volume of daily sales.
The sectors of health, banking, energy, social security and general labor inspection are present at the fair.
The event, took place under the motto “Agriculture in Bengo creating the bases for the diversification of the economy”.
The banana fair is the largest stock exchange in the province of Bengo and aims to promote and publicize the agricultural potential of the region.
