Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty-two explosive devices were destroyed, Wednesday, in the city of Dundo, northern Lunda Norte province, by personnel from the 11th Brigade of the National Demining Centre.
These are unexploded materials such as 22 mortars of 60 and 80 calibers, three RPG-7 mortars, an anti-tank mine, two combat heads and 474 different types of ammunition, collected in minefields in the municipalities of Cambulo, Chitato and Lucapa.
On the occasion, the commander of operations for the 11th Brigade, Correia Cumona, made it known that the demined areas had already been handed over for agriculture and the implementation of social projects.
He said that the specialists will carry out the same demining activity in the municipalities of Cambulo, Lubalo, LoĢvua and Lucapa, where some explosive devices have already been identified.
