Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Democratic Bloc, Filomeno Vieira Lopes, reiterated Sunday, in the city of Huambo, the challenge of working to strengthen the party organization to recover the credibility of Angolans, as a spokesman for the people’s wishes and aspirations.

The party leader was speaking at a press conference, at the end of a four-day working day in Huambo province.

“We remain focused on strengthening the Democratic Bloc, with a view to recovering the credibility of the Angolan people, so that they deposit their claims, desires and aspirations in us and to be spokespersons before the established powers, for a better solution”, stressed the politician He

referred that one of the main challenges involves strengthening the party organization, with the aim of allowing, either independently or in conjunction with other political forces, to be the hope of Angolans as an alternative for the country’s development, through the electoral disputes.

Accordingly, he announced, for this month, the development of the process of restructuring and organization of the Democratic Bloc in Huambo province, through elections and swearing in of management bodies at provincial and municipal level.

In interaction with journalists from public and private bodies in the province, Filomeno Vieira Lopes addressed various topics, with emphasis on strengthening the country’s democratization, advocating the implementation of a system in which political and social forces have roles to ensure progress and national development.

He also defended the de-partisanship of public institutions, so that they are more republican and are increasingly at the service of protecting citizens’ fundamental rights and guarantees.

On his working day in Huambo province, Filomeno Vieira Lopes visited the structures of the party organization in the municipality of Ucuma and the General Hospital of Huambo, with the aim of finding out how they work.

The Democratic Block was founded in July 2010 and did not run in the general elections on 24 August last.
