Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial deputy governor for the Political, Social and Economic sector of Uíge, Sónia Arlete Domingos, invited, this Wednesday, national and foreign businessmen to invest in that region of the country, with a view to boosting development in various fields.

Sónia Arlete Domingos made this appeal during the opening act of the Agricultural and Industrial Fair of Uíge (Expo-Uíge/2023), which takes place under the motto “Uíge 106 years hand in hand towards development”.

The event will run until the 9th of this month, an exhibition with the participation of 250 companies from the sectors of agriculture, services and other areas of activity.

Sónia Arlete Domingos referred that the province is very rich in soils, arable land and it rains for nine months, an important factor for investment in the province.

He considered Expo-Uíge a marketing tool for promoting products, services and expanding the customer portfolio, because it brings together businessmen, entrepreneurs, public and private companies and representatives of the municipalities, which present the potential of the region, in the fields of agriculture, technology , culture, mining and fish farming.

The vice-governor expects, for this edition of Expo-Uíge, that the business volume exceeds more than 170 million Kwanzas in the previous edition.

In turn, the municipal administrator of Uíge, Maria Cavungo, considered holding the fair an initiative that aims to expand the cultivation areas and, subsequently, the dissemination of the potential of the municipality.

He also expressed the interest of the local administration in continuing to work to attract investors in the agro-industrial areas, for the installation of small industrial units, with a view to transforming and preserving tropical fruits.

The 12th edition of Expo-Uíge, organized by the company C Calas Angola, occupies an area of ​​two hectares, in Praça da Independência, in the city of Uíge.
