Africa-Press – Angola. Campo do Mangais, in Barra do Kwanza, in Luanda, will once again host the international golf championship called “World Corporate Golf Challenge” (WCGC), starting next April, with the completion of the first stage, of the four planned .
According to the program that Jornal de Angola had access to, provided by the organization, the official presentation of the competition, which returns to the country two years later, took place last week, in a partnership between Eventos Arena and Mangais Golf Resort.
The championship will be played in Stableford which adds the two results of the team. Scoring is based on the number of strokes made, above, below or equal to par on each hole.
Individual prizes will be awarded to golfers who achieve the Longest Drive (longest shot) and Nearest the Pin (closest shot to the hole), in addition to three Nett awards and an equal number for the Gross.
The first stage takes place on the 9th of April, the second is scheduled for the 7th of May. The golfers return to Mangais on the 9th of July, while the national final will take place on the 3rd of September.
The organization foresees the participation of 30 companies, which will be joined by 15 teams from the sponsoring companies, with more than 90 golfers. Absent since 2019, this edition, according to the organizers, will give the brands involved the association with prestige and reputation values, seeking to respond to their strategic needs.
The duo composed by the brothers António Marçal “Toy”/Victor Marçal “Manucho” was the winner of the 2019 edition and represented Angola in the final that took place in Portugal. The 2022 final will be held in Tenerife, Spain, from the 17th to the 21st of October.
Players and guests from over 30 countries will be able to enjoy the hospitality that the island of Tenerife has to offer.
