Africa-Press – Angola. Angola reduced the mortality rate by Covid-19 to 100 percent, from February 28 until yesterday, March 7, in the same period in which there was a 13 percent drop in contagions, according to data released. , yesterday, in Luanda, by the Secretary of State for Public Health.

Franco Mufinda, who was taking stock of the epidemiological situation in the country, said that, even in the same period, there was an increase in the recovery rate of around 39.5 percent.

Regarding the data in the last 24 hours, the Secretary of State informed that seven new cases were registered and the recovery of 14 people, on a day in which eight days were completed without notification of death associated with Covid-19.

The new infections, said Franco Mufinda, were all registered in Luanda, being six male and one female, aged between 13 and 55 years. With regard to recoveries, seven were registered in Luanda and the same number in Zaire.

With these data, the country accounts for 98,813 confirmed cases, of which 1,900 resulted in deaths, 96,814 recovered and 99 were active. Of this number, one is in a serious condition, two are moderate, six have mild symptoms and 89 are asymptomatic.

In Covid-19 treatment centers across the country, 10 patients are hospitalized. In institutional quarantine there are 10 citizens and 92 in home isolation. The Integrated Center for Public Security (CISP) registered 25 calls yesterday, with requests for various information.

In the last 24 hours, the mental health and psychosocial intervention team provided psychological support by telephone to 37 citizens.

The Molecular Biology Laboratory processed, in the last 24 hours, 4,119 samples, of which seven were positive. Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, 1,443,980 samples have been processed, of which 98,813 have tested positive.

Franco Mufinda reported that, since the beginning of the vaccination campaign against Covid-19, on March 2, 2021, 16,834,772 doses have been administered. Of this number, more than five million have full doses.

With regard to immunization in adolescents aged 12 to 17 years, the Secretary of State said that more than two million have already been vaccinated.
