Africa-Press – Angola. At least 40,111 citizens updated the Official Electoral Register, from September 2021 to the present date at the One-Stop Public Service Desks (BUAP), in the municipality of Andulo, province of Bié.
The information was provided by the municipal director of Registration and Administrative Modernization of Andulo, Arsénio Tchambanganji. He announced that the municipality has four fixed counters installed at the headquarters and in the communes of Cassumbi, Chivaulo and Calussinga and four mobile posts, intended for the inhabitants of more remote areas.
According to the official, the process is proceeding normally, despite sometimes experiencing difficulties in the system and access roads, especially in Cassumbe commune.
On her turn, the municipal administrator of Andulo, Celeste Adolfo, yesterday appealed to the population covered to join the Single Public Service Desks to update the data in view of the general elections scheduled for next August.
According to the official, the current moment is being marked by the updating of the Official Electoral Register that has been running since last September throughout the national territory and abroad.
Celeste Adolfo highlighted the need to intensify community awareness actions, so that no one is left out of this process and avoid the usual floods. “There are a few days left for the end of the process. We ask citizens to attend the counters and not leave it for the last few days to avoid embarrassment”, she underlined.
The process of updating the Official Electoral Register started on the 23rd of September.
Mobilization in Bié
The MPLA Municipal Committee in Andulo, Bié province, has reinforced, in the communities, in the last three days, the awareness and mobilization of citizens so that they can go to the nearest Public Service Desks (BUAP).
The second municipal secretary of the MPLA, in Andulo, Aristides Gonçalves, said yesterday that militants were deployed in villages, in areas of pastures and farms, as well as where there are more people, to raise awareness of the importance of electoral registration. .
“This phase ends on March 31st. Time is running out for those of electoral age who can vote in the next elections. Therefore, it is urgent to increase campaigns”, he added.
