Africa-Press – Angola. The Embassy of Brazil in Angola and the Centro Cultural Brasil-Angola (CCBA) promote Saturday, between 11 am and 6 pm, in the theater room, a masterclass by José Mena Abrantes, playwright and director at Elinga Teatro, a master of Angola and the world, in a meeting around dramaturgy, as part of the “Assisted Readings” project.
According to the program of this activity, the meeting will have two parts, the first in the classroom format, based on the experiences of Mena Abrantes in writing the dramatic genre, and the second in dialogues on dramaturgy, based on the experience and questions raised by the audience. In the interval, between 1400 and 15:00, there will be book sale and autograph session.
The theater will have 80 seats available, with the use of masks and observation of social distancing being mandatory during the activity. The production intends for the assistance to broaden knowledge about dramaturgy and celebrate March Month of Theater.
National Prize for Culture and Arts, in 2012, José Mena Abrantes was born in Malanje on January 11, 1945. He is a journalist, director and fiction writer. He has a degree in Germanic Philology from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon. He has practiced journalism since 1975. Since January 2018, he has been a consultant to the President of the Republic. Director of the Elinga Teatro group, he has published books of poetry, fiction and 21 plays.
“Assisted Readings” is a reading project dedicated to the dramatic genre, which has carried out readings of contemporary dramaturgy texts by Portuguese-speaking authors, promoted a dramaturgy competition, readings and digital publication of the awarded texts, creation of dramaturgy collections.
Brazilian jiu jitsu
The project “Sextarte – workshops of art” presents a Jiu-jitsu workshop with Matt Araújo Mabeko-Tali on Friday, between 2 pm and 5 pm, at CCBA.
The speaker was born in Luanda, but spent his adolescence in several cities in Southern Africa. He has been linked to Brazilian Jiu-jitsu since 2005. In 2007, he started teaching and received his black belt in 2014 from Professor Sérgio Lopes (founder of Z1 Academy). He has his own art and sport academy in Ingombotas.
