Africa-Press – Angola. The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Lunda Norte, Deolinda Satula Vilarinho, defended this Sunday the rehabilitation of the Nzagi-Canzar (municipality of Cambulo) and Cuango-Loremo sections, with a view to boosting trade between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), aiming to increase tax revenues.
The section that connects the village of Nzagi and the commune of Canzar, gives access to the Tchicolondo border, the second largest customs post in the country, after Luvo.
Presenting the memorandum on the political-party, social and economic situation of the province, at the assembly of activists led by the vice-president of the MPLA, Luísa Damião, the party’s first provincial secretary also defended the rehabilitation of Estrada Nacional 170, on the Camaxilo/ Lubalo/Xinge, covering a length of 210 kilometers.
He made it known that of the ten municipalities in Lunda Norte, Lubalo is the only one that, until now, has no road connection with the capital of the province (Dundo), hence the importance of its rehabilitation with a view to consolidating and harmonizing the development of that region.
As for the mining industry, he said it was necessary for companies operating in the province to improve their environmental protection programs and for project management headquarters and Mining Companies to be transferred to the provincial capital, in order to allow direct interaction with local authorities in a timely manner.
On the other hand, he defended the mobilization of resources to complete the works on the Chitato multipurpose pavilion and the increase in the offer of technical courses on the future university campus, with emphasis on Geology and Mining, Medicine, Nursing, Agricultural Sciences, Civil Construction, IT and Electricity, to meet the demand of the employment market, as well as to build an infrastructure for the operation of the Integrated Citizen Assistance Service (SIAC).
He added that “it is imperative” to build a media library and complete the Technical Health Institute, to encourage students to invest in scientific research and expand the training offer in medicine.
The vice-president of the MPLA, Luísa Damião, has been carrying out an aid and control visit to the province of Lunda Norte, since this Sunday afternoon, to find out about the fulfillment of her party’s political agenda and the socio-economic projects in that district.
