Africa-Press – Angola. BP and ENI signed, this Friday, in Luanda, an agreement for the creation of an independent company, Azule Energy – 50% owned by each of the companies, which will combine their businesses in Angola.
The agreement is the result of the memorandum of understanding signed by the two companies in May 2021. Azule Energy, will be a new, independently managed international energy company, with more than 200 thousand boe/day of net oil and gas production and about two billion net resources.
Azule Energy is expected to be the largest producer in Angola, with stakes in 16 concessions, as well as stakes in Angola LNG. Azule Energy is also committed to adding to its business portfolio Eni’s interests in Solenova, a solar energy company jointly owned with Sonangol.
