Africa-Press – Angola. The absence of goalkeeper Teresa de Almeida “Bá” and the return of full-back Azenaide Carlos constitute the main news in the call-up of the National Senior Women’s Handball Team, for the Pre-Olympic Tournament, starting on Wednesday, in Luanda.
Released (Sunday), in the country’s capital, coach Vivaldo Eduardo’s list includes eighteen players, with Clube 1o de Agosto, in the vast majority, with eight.
Azenaide Carlos, who plays for Corona Brasov in Romania, is returning to the Angolan team, after missing the last training sessions, due to a technical option.
Teresa Almeida “Bá”, goalkeeper for Petro de Luanda, is not among the options.
The National Team’s field work begins on Monday, at 9 am, at the Kilamba Arena.
The group will compete in the Pre-Olympic Tournament, which takes place from the 11th to the 14th of this month, in Luanda, qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in France.
Angola faces, in its debut, on Wednesday, the similar Senegal. Thursday they face Congo and end the competition against Cameroon, on the 14th.
