Africa-Press – Angola. Petro de Luanda won the fourth edition of the Luanda provincial football Super Cup this Wednesday, by defeating Norberto de Castro, 2-1, in a game played at the Coqueiros stadium.
The event, which opens the premier sport season in the country’s capital, pitted the provincial champion Petro de Luanda against the winner of the Angola Cup, provincial phase, Norberto de Castro.
At half-time, it was equal to 1-1. The “oil workers” were the first to score, from a penalty, by Florentino, while the Viana team equalized with a header from Depú.
At the restart, despite the balance, Maninho, the “tricolor” striker, scored the winning goal, guaranteeing the second Supercup trophy for his club’s gallery.
After the opening of the sports season in the country’s capital, the Association is preparing for Sunday the first edition of the Luanda League, with the participation of 16 teams, in an all-against-all two-round system.
The holding of the provincial league was approved at the ordinary general assembly of the Luanda Provincial Football Association, held last weekend.
