Africa-Press – Angola. UNITA militants, armed with blunt objects, such as stones, sticks, knives and machetes, set fire to the MPLA Municipal Committee in Sanza Pombo, Uige province, causing serious injuries and the complete destruction of the headquarters, as a result of an apparent crossing between marches of the two political forces in one of the main streets of the municipality.

The party activities, justified as causing the confrontation, were authorized by the Municipal Administration of Sanza Pombo and, at a certain point along the way, they crossed paths, unpreparedly, causing a “brutal clash” between the militants, resulting in the anger of the “faithful” of the UNITA, who, in an uncontrolled act, attacked the MPLA Committee, causing unprecedented damage in recent years in the region.

And they are against the spirit of national reconciliation, the result of hard work, both on the side of the Government and on the side of UNITA, in the Bicesse and Lusaka agreements, and we we now think that this is an unacceptable provocation”, lamented the nationalist.

Political analyst Manuel Fernades condemns the acts of vandalism carried out by UNITA militants in Sanza Pombo, Uíge province, which caused serious injuries and the destruction of the MPLA Municipal Committee. “We must condemn, as members of this society, the events that took place in Sanza Pombo”, he sentenced . actions like these have been seen in the past and have led us to war.
