Provincial Football League: City hosts Escola do Zango at Cidadela Stadium

Africa-Press – Angola. The Luanda City team will try tomorrow, starting at 3pm, at Estádio da Cidadela, for their first victory when they face Escola do Zango, a qualifying game for the third round of the Provincial Football League.

After two consecutive draws, the first against Elite Real FC and the second against Neidji, both 1-1, the team led by Victor Covilhã is committed to surprising the visitors.

The hosts are aware that the task is complicated, but they believe they can achieve their objective of winning their first game in the competition.

In turn, Escola do Zango, led by Armando Faria “Ti Nandinho”, a well-organized team, hopes to counter the opponent’s intentions and take advantage of the hosts’ weaknesses to bring water to their mill.

After the defeat at the start of the competition with 1o Agosto (4-2) and draw (1-1), against Atlético Sport Aviação (ASA), the two teams are trying to get out of the wave of bad results, a factor that could contribute to a good show.

In the last three games between Luanda City and Escola do Zango, the Luandenses have the advantage with two victories against one for the opponent.

In the games played over the weekend, the Moniz team and FC da Calemba did not go beyond a 2-2 draw.

1o de Agosto beat Matilha FC 6-1, with a hat trick by Lito. Axel, Milton and Monox scored the other goals for the military.

The Angola Football Academy (AFA) defeated FC Renascer do Estoril (2-1). Interclube had to work hard to defeat Elite Real FC 1-0, while ASA was unable to avoid another defeat by losing to Petro (0-2). Finally, Guelson FC beat Kambas FC 5-0.

The next round holds the following challenges: Calemba-Matilha, Renascer-Moniz, Kambas-AFA, Elite Real-Guelson, Neidji-Interclube, Zango-Lobos, Petro-Luanda City and 1o de Agosto-ASA.

Interclube, Petro and AFA occupy the top positions, all with nine points each.
