Africa-Press – Angola. The delegate of the Ministry of the Interior in Cabinda, Francisco Baptista, appealed, this Wednesday, to the staff of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), in the province, for greater rigor and speed in the treatment of criminal cases under investigation.

Francisco Baptisa, who was speaking at the opening of the activities to celebrate the anniversary of the creation of the SIC, on the 28th, highlighted the need for speed in the investigative process with a view to lowering crime rates in the region.

To this end, he said that the moment requires the permanent surpassing of staff in specialized matters and the improvement of more forensic knowledge, with a view to adopting means of preventing and repressing crime in the region.

Therefore, he recalled that the SIC is responsible for coordinating the implementation of policies within the scope of legislative measures aimed at investigating criminal evidence, adopting means of prevention and reprimand, crime, organized crime and drug trafficking and corruption. .

It is also responsible, he said, to investigate and combat economic and financial crimes and other crimes against people and property, carry out preparatory instructions for criminal processes in all their aspects with competences and carry out arrests, searches, searches and seizures in accordance with the law.

Cabinda has recorded violent crimes using firearms in the peripheral neighborhoods of the city, namely, armed robberies in homes, thefts and thefts of vehicles, trafficking in drugs (libanga, cocaine and liamba) and fuel, in addition to fraud and theft of ATM cards.
