Africa-Press – Angola. The level of execution of public works, within the scope of the Integrated Infrastructure Project for the municipalities on the coast of Benguela, was under evaluation, in Bocoio, during the ordinary meeting of the local Government.

These are contracts for the rehabilitation and expansion of the water supply system to coastal municipalities, rehabilitation of roads, construction of pedestrian crossings and an Events and Exhibitions building.

Members of the Government of Benguela were informed about the portfolio of projects for the five-year period 2022/27, with emphasis on the actions to be implemented in the 2024 financial year.

Here, the sectors of Education, Health, Energy and Water, Housing, public buildings, public security and communication routes stand out.

Likewise, an analysis of ongoing works in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) was carried out, with the aim of overcoming the constraints that have been encountered in its implementation.

In relation to agriculture, the prospects for the current 2023/24 agricultural campaign were assessed, which is intended to be more satisfactory and productive.

As part of the public competition for admission to the General Regime, members of the Government were informed of the results, in which 30 thousand 106 candidates were registered, of which 418 were selected to fill vacancies in the ten budgetary units.

The status of the public competition in the Education sector to fill one thousand and sixty-six vacancies was also reviewed.

Also at the second Ordinary Meeting of the Provincial Government of Benguela, which ended this Friday, the damage caused by the rains that devastated the municipality of Balombo was analyzed, as well as the measures to be taken to assist the victims and, likewise, take precautions against future situations during this rainy period, at the provincial level.
