Africa-Press – Angola. Twenty-four declaimers and poets took to the stage of Espaço Verde-Caxinde, in Luanda, on Monday night, the date on which the World Poetry Day was celebrated, the art of singing life well, thus marking the reopening of the Chá de Caxinde Association to cultural and recreational activities.

In addition to poetry, some guests enriched the Angolan poetry festival with Spoken Word.

The 21st of March was also marked by a debate on “Literary Criticism and the Evolution of the Crop”, introduced by a communication by José Luís Mendonça. “The Literary Field in a developed country is usually accompanied by a process of regular and systematic criticism of the works that they come out to the public, in the form of essays, press articles, conversations and gatherings and even in advertising itself,” said the speaker.

“In Angola, we witness the dysfunctionality of an uncritical society, through certain forms of intellectual intolerance. Instead of criticism, individual narcissism is preferred”, said José Mendonça.
